Default AA to charge for blankies..

AA will be charging $8 for blankets:

http://www.usatoday.com/travel/fligh...&ak=77990.blog

I should point out I picked up one of the US Airways nap sack and honestly, its a good deal. The blanket is ok (better than the old ones) and the eyeshades and pillow are nice. Stuffed into the bag they give you it fits rather nicely in my carryon pack, which led to me flying on Delta while covered in a USAir blanket. They also make nice covers when stuck in a chilly lounge on a flight delay

That's right ... keep on with these nonsense charges, and watch your airline lose more revenue than you will gain ...

You couldn't pay me to use one of those blankets for love or money, as the saying goes, and pay for them...not a chance. They don't clean those blankets between flights. The just fold them up and rebag them. I've seen that done on United, US Air, American, and the old Northwest.

I bring my own.

Ned, you are expected to keep both the power sacs and whatever AA is calling those. They are not for rent. I bought a set once and re-use them now.

Oh, I don't know. Those curly bangs make his face look kind of square.

BTW, you can get the equivalent to an airline blanket at K-Mart for about $3.00. I have a few of them that travel in pouches in my car in the winter, take one along when I travel by air.

I knitted my self a large diamond shaped shawl with a blend of merino wool and silk. It is lightweight and warm and can be stuffed into my bag easily - or tied onto me! One of the most practical things I ever made - besides my socks. And it is prettier than any of those blankets.

I'm not so sure L. I think the blanket's for rent at $8. Right after the article talks about the $8 it says,

AP adds AA "will sell a blue fleece blanket with an inflatable neck pillow in a clear zippered pouch, and will throw in coupon for $10 off a $30 purchase at Bed, Bath and Beyond, Huguely said.

To me the key word in that is SELL.

Yes they sell them, not rent them.

Just wait until hotels unbundle their rates. You want sheets and blankets for that bed? What a sad mess things have become!
