Las Vegas’ other strip enhances its properties

It’s easy to forget that there are other casinos outside of downtown Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Strip. The property owners along the 17-mile stretch of Boulder Highway, the Boulder Strip, want you to remember them. They’ve been making improvements to their properties to attract the locals as well as out-of-towners.

 

Airlines question Las Vegas Airport expansion plan

Last month we reported that the Clark County (Nev.) Commission voted to decrease funding for airport improvement from $3.7 billion to $360 million. Now it appears that they decided to backtrack and fund, among other things, a new $2.4 billion international terminal, which is scheduled to open in 2012.

Two Las Vegas projects suspend construction

Back in June, we reported that Las Vegas is seeing a downturn in its economy. Now The Wall Street Journal is reporting that The Las Vegas Plaza’s project owners have delayed their groundbreaking from the end of 2008 to sometime in 2009. Plans for the Plaza Las Vegas were approved by the Clark County Planning Commission back in March.
