European graffiti — a sign of the times?

Remember when you saw graffiti everywhere across our country? New York was covered with it, especially the subways. Even in the hinterland, highway walls and bridges were spray-painted in bright, primary colors with that distinctive aerosol art motif. Well, sadly, this vulgar piece of American pop culture has gone global. Charlie Leocha has some theories why.

 

Switzerland to Germany — changing places

trainthumb.leochaMoving from a hidden bucolic Alpine valley to the Zurich Airport then onto Frankfurt’s Airport and its bustling downtown was surprisingly easy. Both countries have wonderful public transportation that makes it possible.

 

Back in Switzerland

swisschurchthumb.gifAh! I’m back in Switzerland for the first time in about eight years or so. My first thoughts, as we circled the airport and the Swiss International Airlines non-stop flight from Boston turned on to final approach, were how beautiful and green Switzerland is, even as it becomes more and more populated.
