America’s 10 most stressful airports
Last February, we noted the US News and World Report Airport Misery Index. Now, just in time for Thanksgiving, Forbes has released their list of the country’s most stressful airports.
Only four of the airports that were in the top 10 on the US News list made the Forbes list. US News used a more complex algorithm that included load factors. Forbes focused on on-time performance. Some of the differences may be increasing delays in the New York/Philadelphia airspace.
Here are the Forbes “most stressful” airports:
1. Philadelphia
2. JFK*
3. Chicago O’Hare*
4. Newark*
5. LaGuardia
6. Miami International
7. Dulles
8. Houston
9. Boston Logan
10. San Francisco*
(* means they made the top 10 of the US News Airport Misery Index list as well)
When this Forbes piece was being written, the dramatic drop in airline capacity had not yet occured. My prediction is a far more stressless time at airports across the country unless we are hit with a stormy weather event.

How did Cleveland not make this list? It is so miserable that I would try to avoid it EVEN IF I WAS FLYING TO CLEVELAND.
How did LAX not make this list? Tom Bradley International Terminal alone should put it way up there.
Hilarious - all three major New York airports are on the list! Newark - what a disaster. I will fly out of my way to Houston to avoid Newark.
What about ATL? While it does work, it is a pain and very stressful!
