Boeing delays 787… again
Boeing said Wednesday that delivery of its 787 Dreamliner is now 15 months behind schedule. The company cited slow progress on assembly and problems with its suppliers, the Associated Press reports. The planes first flight, which was supposed to take place last year, won’t happen now until the fourth quarter of this year. According to the report, some 50 airlines have placed about 900 orders for the jet, a twin-engine widebody that is made largely of carbon-fiber plastic. Analysts and customers had been expecting the latest delays. By comparison, European rival Airbus delayed delivery of its A380 for 18 months.
