Carnival to bump fuel fee
Carnival will increase its fuel surcharge to $7 per day. The maximum charge will jump from $70 to $98 per passenger. The move, reported by the Orlando Sentinel, comes one week after agreeing to refund fuel surcharges for previously booked cruises. “We regret having to take this action, but fuel-price increases have continued, and we now find it necessary to implement a modest increase in the supplement,” Bill Harber, Carnival’s director of corporate marketing, wrote in the notice to travel agents. The higher charges will apply to all bookings beginning April 21, according to the report.
