Delta raises fares
Delta Air Lines announced Monday that it would increase domestic fares between $10 and $40 per round trip. The spike, which the airline is calling a fuel surcharge, comes just after Delta CEO Richard Anderson said that airfares had to rise 15 to 20 percent just for the industry to break even with fuel costs what they are. According to the Associated Press, other carriers were evaluating Delta’s move but had not yet announced if they would follow with their own fare hikes.
