Delta’s overseas flights to offer more legroom in 2010
Delta has plans to implement a new seat configuration for economy-class passengers on some of its international flights, as early as 2010. Somehow, the seat design is supposed to accomplish two things: giving passengers more leg room and simultaneously allowing the addition of more seats.
I know. It doesn’t make sense to me either.
Actually, it was reported that the configuration will allow for some of the seats to be arranged in a staggered order and supposedly that is how the addition of extra seats will be possible.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the new seats “will look almost like office cubicles slanting across the cabin.”
There is also the claim that the new seats give the passenger “more privacy” though they don’t plan to change the distance between the seat rows.
It will be interesting to see how exactly they plan to pull this rabbit out of their hat.

I’m all for extra leg room, but cubicles on a plane? I think I would prefer snakes.
