Frontier ends service on 6 routes
Frontier Airlines announced Wednesday that it would end a regional jet agreement with Republic Airways and eliminate service to five cities as part of its restructuring plan. The move represents a shift away from a business strategy to open business in small and midsized markets that were underserved by larger carriers, the Associated Press reports. “Unfortunately, with current economic conditions and other business changes, we have been forced to drastically rethink the use of regional aircraft in our flight mix,” Frontier Chief Executive Officer Sean Menke said in a statement.
