LaGuardia passengers get free charging stations

Passengers at New York’s LaGuardia (LGA) can now charge their electronic devices, for free, at any one of a dozen different “power poles” located beyond the security checkpoints throughout the central terminal building, which serves about half the airport’s passengers.

The 8 1/2 foot tall poles sport four outlets a piece and a small counter for your laptop computer or other chargeable electronic device. The Port Authority introduced the same thing at JFK last year and says that Newark is next in line to receive the poles, possibly as early as later this year.

The poles are sponsored by Samsung Electronics, who also paid for the program.
