Mind your manners on spring break

MSNBC.com’s Harriet Baskas offers her advice for well-mannered travelers heading out on the road this spring break season. First off, allow yourself extra time for your flight because the airport will be crowded with families and students. Once you get there, have fun but respect the locals. Melissa Zamora, who works at the South Padre Island Convention and Visitors Bureau, Zamora says the folks in South Padre Island do set limits. “It’s a reciprocal relationship, like inviting someone to your own home. If they demonstrate poor etiquette, you take care of it right away.” For parents, it’s OK to be anxious and talk to your children about their trip, but spare them a lecture.
