Mount Vernon Mother’s Day
On the weekend of May 10-11 Mount Vernon will be celebrating Mothers Day with a Spring Garden Party with charming period music, costumed characters, traditional dancing, colonial games, and special presentations by Lady Washington.
Events are planned for the entire month with a wine festival May 15-18 and a moving Naturalization Ceremony, held every year at Mount Vernon, where 100 people become citizens on May 19th.
The National Treasure Tour of the basement of Mount Vernon has been extended and will be offered until the end of October.
For anyone visiting the Nation’s Capital, Mount Vernon is well worth the trip across the Potomac and down the George Washington Parkway.
