Naked tourist swims in Japan’s Emperor’s moat — we have the video

Every so often, in the midst of financial disaster, crumbling air traffic sytems, bankrupt airlines and tourism downsizing, bizarre news brings a smile to your face. This week a tourist was arrested for swimming naked in the moat surrounding the Japanese Emperor’s residence.

This startling skinny-dipping episode was actually caught on video. Go ahead and roll the videotape.

Onlookers, speaking with reporters, suggested that the middle-aged balding man may be a bit crazy. In the video, one can see spectators snapping photos with cameras and cell phones.

For anyone planning on such a swim, the palace gardens offer a splendid series of a dozen moats stretching four miles through manicured trees, bushes and flowers.

Other recently reported naked events were the PETA naked anti-bullfight march at Pamplona prior to the city’s famed Running of the Bulls on July 6th and the naked bicycle ride in Mexico City back in June to raise environmental awareness. The Mexico City event was coordinated with naked cyclists in 132 cities across the planet. Can’t believe I missed it.
