New security lanes at Logan

Boston’s Logan Airport will be the next test case in the Transportation Security Administration’s new program that seeks to speed security checks by dividing passengers into lanes based on their preference. Families or those who need special assistance will get one lane, casual travelers get their lane and frequent travelers get their lane. It’s the same system that has tested well in Salt Lake City and Denver. But, Boston Globe staffer Paul S. Makishima has his doubts. “Let’s face it, here in Boston if you set up lanes and let people choose everyone will head for the breakdown lane and try to beat the system.”
