NWA adds fees, cuts service, freezes workers

Northwest Airlines announced “revenue enhancements,” which means passengers will pay more fees. They will cut capacity in the fall and will stop hiring of pilots and flight attendants.

In order to keep their $3 billion cash reserve well fueled, Northwest announced they will increase fuel surcharges, baggage fees and hopefully, airfares. In concert with these fare and fee increases Northwest will be cutting domestic service after the summer season.

Northwest also just announced that they will not be hiring additional pilots or flight attendants.
