Skiers: Record snowfall in Canadian Rockies
Sunshine Village in the Canadian Rockies in the Banff National Park reported almost two feet of snow this weekend. Good news for Spring skiing.
As of today, there are 96 areas still open for skiing. Banff region expects skiing and snowboarding through mid May. Mammoth Mountain and Squaw Valley, California will be open at least until late May, perhaps longer. Snowbird, Utah, is scheduled to keep lifts running through the end of May as well.
Here are some of the other major areas still operating lifts as of April 21st–
Sugarloaf and Sunday River in Maine
Bretton Woods, Wildcat and Loon in New Hampshire
Mount Snow and Sugarbush in Vermont
Arapahoe Basin and Loveland, Colorado
Snowbasin, Utah
Almost all the major resorts around Lake Tahoe
Mt. Bachelor, Mt. Hood Meadows, Timberline in Oregon
Whistler/Blackcomb and Revelstoke in British Columbia, Canada
Mont-Ste-Anne and Sutton in Quebec, Canada
Lake Louise, Banff, Canada
