SLC’s not-so-hidden nightlife

Andrea Sachs on assignment for the Washington Post in Salt Lake City discovers lots of wide-eyed LDS religion and far more partying than she ever expected at this Mormon Vatican.

She takes an interesting look at SLC by day and by night. By day religion rules (with plenty of skiing and other outdoor adventures in the summer). By night, the city surprises many with hep nightlife — rap, jazz, blues, rock, hip hop, Latino — and plenty of places to enjoy oneself packed with “blond minxes in slivers of fabric and raffish guys with slacker style.” Only hitch is that you have to be a member or pay to join … or just consider it a basic “cover charge.”

Her story is only the tip of the SLC iceberg. At skisnowboard.com there are a bit more nightlife haunts and links to the SLC tourism site.
