A United Airlines flight bound for Chicago landed without incident at Pittsburgh International Airport shortly after noon today after the pilot reported a pressurization problem.
Pittsburgh International fire trucks and emergency crews were called out after the pilot radioed the control tower to report the trouble and ask for assistance on the ground, said JoAnn Jenny, spokeswoman for the Allegheny County Airport Authority.
However, the plane ended up landing safely and taxied to the gate under its own power, Ms. Jenny said. Flight 637 was headed from Philadelphia to Chicago before being diverted because of the problem.
