Hotels strive to keep the noise level down
Thin walls, loud neighbors, partiers and construction banging have ticked off almost anyone who has stayed in a hotel. Noise was the top complaint (ahead of room cleanliness) in the annual North American Hotel Guest Satisfaction Survey of 47,634 travelers recently released by J.D. Power and Associates.

Most fake bombs missed by screeners
Security screeners at two of the nation’s busiest airports failed to find fake bombs hidden on undercover agents posing as passengers in more than 60% of tests last year.

TSA changes headwear screening policy
Air passengers will no longer have to remove bulky headwear such as turbans at screening checkpoints if doing so makes them uncomfortable.

U.S. airlines set passenger record
More than 72 million passengers flew on U.S. airlines in July, a record number for one month, according to a government tally released Monday.

Airbus finally delivered its first A380 superjumbo jet Monday as the European planemaker tries to rebound from a string of legal and technical troubles.
